Question: Did
this show really exist or did I imagine the whole thing?
Answer:
It did exist and you didn't imagine it! While it's not uncommon to
feel like you are the only person in the world who remembers this show,
you're not alone! And you're certainly not imagining that it
existed!
Question: Are
the episodes available for sale?
Answer:
Unfortunately, no. To date, the show has never been made available
for sale on VHS or DVD.
Question: Can I
watch the episodes online?
Answer:
Thanks to some generous fans (and thanks to Steve Bonino) you can now watch
two full episodes of C.A.P.E.R. and several clips from the show on YouTube,
and you will find these clips
embedded on our Videos
page for your convenience. But so far that is all that is available to view online.
Question: Does
the C.A.P.E.R. project have episodes I can buy or trade for?
Answer:
As you may have seen on our
YouTube Channel,
we have come into possession of some C.A.P.E.R. episodes as well as other
video clips. We will not sell these things under any circumstances,
but we will certainly consider trading copies of anything we have for
C.A.P.E.R.-related items or information. Don't have anything like
that to trade? Drop us an
e-mail
anyway and we'll see what we can do!
Question: How
can I find the Kids from C.A.P.E.R. album?
Answer:
The album seems to come up fairly regularly on eBay,
so that may be your best bet! Sadly it has not been released on
CD. But thanks to generous fans such as Pat and Maggie, we have been
able to post all of the songs from the album to this site so you can
listen to them again, and you can now find them in The
Songs
section.
Question:
Remind me again, what does C.A.P.E.R. stand for?
Answer:
The Civilian Authority for the Protection of Everybody, Regardless.
Question: What
are the names of the Kids and who played them?
Answer:
The Kids are P.T. (played by Steve Bonino), Bugs (played by Cosie Costa),
Doomsday (played by Biff Warren) and Doc (played by John Lansing.)
Question: What
are each of their special abilities?
Answer:
P.T. is able to stay calm, cool and rational in difficult situations and
his nose, Seymour, can smell out clues like a bloodhound. Bugs is
endowed with super strength and super speed which he can call upon when
needed. Doomsday can talk to animals. And Doc has
computer-like intelligence as well as the looks and charm to attract
females.
Question: Which
character would go crazy if you said the word "bananas?"
And why?
Answer:
Bugs is the one who would throw a fit any time he hears "that
word." Why, exactly, is anyone's guess.
Question: What
is the name of the vehicle they drove?
Answer:
The drove a yellow delivery-style truck / van called The Big Bologna which,
naturally, has a big bologna on top. (Note: in the two earliest
episodes, The Big Bologna was blue.)
Question: What
is the name of their shark?
Answer:
The shark they use as their radar in the Big Bologna is named Mr.
Featherstone. He lives in a tank located in the vehicle.
Question: Where
is the C.A.P.E.R. Room located?
Answer:
The C.A.P.E.R. Room is located in a back room of Northeast Southweston's
927th precinct.
Question: Isn't
there some really tall building in Northeast Southweston?
Answer: Yes,
the Krelvin Building, which is the tallest building in the world with no
elevators.
And here are some questions you may have
about this website:
Who is doing
this site?
Answer: My
name is Linda Kay and like most fans I loved the show back when it
originally aired. I have run a number of fan clubs and websites over
the years, and finally decided to do one for C.A.P.E.R. as well.
Question:
Why? And why now?
Answer:
A very good question, and one I've been trying to work out for
myself! Unlike some of the more diligent C.A.P.E.R. fans who have
kept the show alive online all these years, my interest in the show has
been on a back burner for almost thirty years. I had saved one
article from 1976 which I kept all these years, but that was it. I
kept hoping the episodes would eventually come out on DVD and every few
years I'd check around online to see what was happening in the world of
C.A.P.E.R. In 2009, when I found out that iliketheshiny
posted one full episode on YouTube, that ember of interest was rekindled
and, after much deliberation, I decided to go ahead and create this
website with the hope we could finally get someone interested in releasing
the shows on DVD. Because it is long overdue! Also, searching
out information about the show and the actors proved to be a bit of a
daunting task, so since I was researching it anyway I thought I'd go ahead
and compile what I found in one place for the benefit of other interested
fans!
Question: What
if the shows don't exist or the copyrights are tied up in a way which
makes the show impossible to release?
Answer: This
site will still remain as an information resource for the fans, whether or
not we can procure an official DVD release or not. We know there are
still episodes out there which can be shared if only they can be
found! And we know there's lots more information on the show to
learn. So we're not going anywhere anytime soon.
Question: I
really want to talk to other fans about the show! Will you have a
Forum?
Answer: At
this time we don't have plans to start a Forum of our own, although fans
can share their memories about C.A.P.E.R. with everyone on our Guestbook.
But there are two great groups where fans already share information on the show,
and we encourage you to join them . . . the C.A.P.E.R.
Room Yahoo! group
and the I Remember the Kids from C.A.P.E.R. Facebook
page!
Question: How
can I help the project?
Answer:
Go to our How
to Help page
and there you will find suggestions on how you can help us with our
endeavors!
Question: There
is a photo on this page I would like to use. May I?
Answer: We
make the materials on this site available so fans can enjoy and use as
them they wish! You can feel free to download anything from this site for
your own personal use. If you plan to repost any materials from this
site for use on another site, we don't mind as long as you either credit
us as being the source or give us a link!
